| Lunch with Speaker:Catherine Lawes Thursday 11th April, 12 for 12:30pm Duchesse Belle Pub – 101 Battersea Park Rd, Nine Elms, London SW8 4DX Members: £38 Guests: £43 (includes welcome drink and buffet lunch) Self-taught textile artist Catherine Lawes Dip. Arch. will talk about her inspiration from New Zealand. Kiwi born and brought up, and moved to the UK aged 18. She studied and graduated in Architecture. While raising her family, she got involved in all the local village activities including the fetes and creating all sorts of arts and crafts. She has exhibited and taught at most of the large textile and quilt shows around the UK and in Dublin. She is interested in many aspects of life from quantum physics to Buddhism, geology, ancient history, buildings old and new, herbalism and cookery. She uses only the best fabrics: silks, silk velvets, silk brocades, linens, cottons, wools. She will be bringing some of her competition pieces to show you.
